Usually, the dude ranch experiences bring along cowboy grub like BBQ, pit beans, and meals that don't appeal to foodies. The Home Ranch has access to some of the most incredible produce that grows in the Colorado sunshine. Though the menus are seasonal, you can be sure to find organic vegetables and ranch-raised livestock. And while the quality of the food was impeccable, it never came across as fussy.

One day during the week, wranglers invite guests to help them bring in the cattle from a distant pasture, and the week often culminates in a ‘rodeo’ of horse and cattle games in the arena. When those have been addressed to the warranty team, they minimalize it or say that's not a big deal. I spent a lot of money on this house and when there's things falling off or separating, that should be a big deal. The things that have been "fixed" almost made it worse. Kimberly in sales and Chris as a foreman are amazing but everyone else and everything else has been pretty subpar. Moon and his wife, Dawn, quite literally put on a performance for guests with a pre-dinner concert of their original tunes — many of which exalt the ranch’s natural surroundings.

The wranglers take the time to explain not just what to do on the horses, but why, and extensive instruction is given in the arena before riders hit the trails.

The room was pretty bare, but by the end of a long day of doing cowboy stuff, you don't mind.
I’m blessed to live among incredible people creating a sense of community. This is one of the most exclusive, expansive and incredible ranches in all of the Rocky Mountains. This is for the adult wanting to living out childhood cowboy fantasies, but with enough amenities to make it relaxing.
The Ranch
The price that we signed on the contract is the price we paid at closing. Even with COVID delays our house finished in a timely manner. I appreciate the wolf ranch sales staff; Jennifer, Kimberly and Josh were awesome.
Making the long commute to the hotel is an ideal time to begin unplugging. Each guest who wants to ride horseback is paired with a horse of their own for the week, which is very nice for consistency. Wranglers divide up rides into small groups based on ability levels and desires . Every wrangler we rode with was excellent, and I never rode the same trail twice. The topography varies between high mountain meadows, woods, and ridges, with plenty of interesting moments as horses picked their way carefully down steep grades or loped along fence lines . Lunch is served on the front deck, and always included sandwich makings, a variety of salads and veggies, two soup options, and something on the grill every day.
They made us feel like family and are still to this day just as happy to see us one year later. It was a little slow but that is expected in the current climate so that’s just what it is .. The big leak a few weeks before closing was a big concern and the quality concern is 99.9% to do with door hanging .. The process itself was excellent and we worked with some great people who were very supportive all the way.. I like the overall quality of construction and the customer service provided throughout the process. There are specific design elements that I would recommend to have revisited.
In fact we still have two outstanding items that are still not completed that were promised to be completed weeks ago. We are working with Malachi now but he said yesterday it is still being reviewed by Managers. We are grateful however that we have seen progress over the long haul but the length of time to complete has been excessive.
As in, ‘Yes, we can accommodate that’, or, ‘Yes, we’ll make that happen’, or ‘Yes, you most certainly can’. And yes, this ‘can do’ attitude is a delight to hear during a dude ranch vacation. Your accommodations are first class with a private room in our beautiful Black Mesa Lodge. Our lodge is a modern 10,000 square foot building. It also has a dining room, cash bar, big screen television and other wonderful amenities.
The ranch's Children's Program takes all the stress out of planning fun for your kids as well, with day-long supervised activities such as rock climbing, nature hikes, capture-the-flag, barn dances, and campfires! The kids are sure to be begging you to come back by the end of your vacation. You won't be roughing it at this all-inclusive retreat, a high-end property set among towering stands of aspen north of Steamboat near Clark. With a magnificent fieldstone fireplace surrounded by plush leather armchairs and sofa, the main room couldn't be cozier.
